Beaufort, SC February 2 2004--Realizing the need for beautiful heirloom quality childrenswear, Florida State University Alumnae Melissa Brantly Severson and Tamra Meinke Ruffner established Lanie Paige Baby to offer truly special vintage inspired childrenswear that will appeal to both fashion conscious children and the adult consumer. The Spring ’04 line debuts to boutiques on February 22, 2004 and can be seen on the designers’ website at www.laniepaige.com.

Consumer feedback has shown that many parents feel that current trends in childrenswear are far too sexual for the age groups targeted. Parents have stated that they do not want their toddlers to dress like teenage pop stars in midriff-baring tops and low-rise flared leg pants. Parents also want to buy childrenswear created from unique and beautiful fabrics in styles that they can cherish and pass on to future generations.

In response, Lanie Paige Baby uses vintage and vintage-inspired fabrics and creates each design with superior handmade quality. Melissa says, “We create each garment with a handmade attention to detail and high quality fabrics.” She continues to say, “We create a limited number of each design. Some are one-of-a-kind designs created from vintage fabrics. We are not making cookie-cutter garments you can find in every shopping mall.”

There are 10 garments in the spring collection. Retail prices are in the $10-74 range, and orders will commence with the collection’s debut February 22, 2004.

Lanie Paige Baby was founded in 2003 and specializes in vintage inspired, heirloom quality boutique clothing for infants and toddlers, in sizes 3MO-4T. Characterized by shabby chic, vintage and vintage-inspired fabrics, all Lanie Paige Baby garments are made in America and possess superior handmade attention to detail.
